Welcome to the Nursery class page.

We always try very hard in Nursery to have fun and make friends.  We learn to live out our school motto "May Christ be Seen in Us" by being kind and helpful in everything we do and by learning to share and care for each other.

On Wednesday it is our PE day.  Children can come to school dressed in their PE kit or clothes suitable for them to do PE e.g. leggings or jogging trousers, a t-shirt and trainers.

On Fridays we have our class library day. The children choose a book with their parents to take home and enjoy together. Please return library books by Wednesday'

On Fridays the children will be given a Weekend Challenge.  This might be connected to the sound we have been learning or involve making a picture or finding some information to tell the class.  Completed challenges should be brought to school on Wednesdays.

How can I help my child?

The best way to help young children is to encourage them to be independent when it comes to dressing and going to the toilet.

Reading books at bed time is a great way to help children to learn to love reading.  They could help to look for the sound of the week.

Playing games and singing number songs will help children to count and to recognise numbers.
